Juicing is a way of life for so many of us these days. So if you’ve not yet joined the juicing revolution, I want to share with you some of the reasons why you gotta get on it! Then I’m gonna give you the skinny on the best juicer to kick start your new juicin’ lifestyle!

If you wanna feel good. If you want more motivation, better digestion and wanna get that spring back into your step, juicing is the key. When you buy juice from the store in a carton, you might think that you’re makin’ the healthy choice but it’s really not the best option. See, juice in a carton is almost always pasteurized. Wanna know what this means? This is what Wikipedia has to say:

Pasteurization is a process of heating a food, usually liquid, to a specific temperature for a definite length of time, and then cooling it immediately. This process slows microbial growth in food.

The living enzymes from the fruits get killed off so the goodness from drinkin’ the juice goes down. Carton-ed juice might have added sugar too. Do you need it? Hell no!

Think of a continuum. On the bad side we’ve got soda, in the middle, carton-ed fruit juice and on the right, fresh homemade fruit and vegetable drinks.

If you wanna get healthy and get the best nutrition then you gotta be making your own drinks. You know it, I know it. Man, we all know it!

You gotta get yourself the right equipment if you’re gonna start livin’ a healthier lifestyle. Health is wealth is the mantra I’m talkin’ about. What I’m saying is just keep it nice and simple. Pick a juicer that’s easy to use, can handle most fruits and vegetables and most importantly is damn quick to use. The best way to turn something into a habit is to make yourself do it regularly. So if it’s gonna take you an hour to chop your fruit, make a juice, then clean your juicer, do you think you’re gonna get into the new habit? Maybe not.

But bring down the time it takes to chop, juice then clean and we might be getting somewhere. Joe Cross, from the movie Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead promotes the Breville 800JEXL Juice Fountain Elite. It makes it easy to choose the healthy option. This baby has a big old feed hole. It’s 3″ across. What does this mean? I’ll tell you what it means! You get to put things in without even chopping them. Whole apples? No problem. And it’s fast too. Check out these videos to see just why so many people rate the Breville 800JEXL as the best juicer they’ve ever used.

I just wanna be clear on one thing though, the “best juicer” really depends upon where we are at in terms of our juicing journey. What I’m getting at is that if you’ve been making home made fruit and vegetable drinks for years, then the Breville Juice Fountain Elite might not be the right choice for you. Or if you’re looking to make the widest range of juices then there are better machines out there. As I hope you’ve realized by now, the bestest feature of this machine is that it gives us juices real fast! That’s why I’d say it’s a great juicer for beginners. It looks good, it’s easy to use and clean AND IT’S DAMN FAST!!!! So we can use it to get into the juicing habit. Some of the best juicer reviews I’ve seen compare the centrifugal and masticating styles.

What about those of you who already own a centrifugal juicer or who just want to jump in there and get one of the best juicers available right now? I’m gonna be honest with you, if this is where you’re at, then I’d seriously think about a vertical masticating juicer. There’s a few brands on sale these days, the Hurom Slow Juicer is nice, there’s the Omega VRT350HD and you can also find the Kuvings Silent Juicer for sale.

In actual fact, these juicers are made in the same country, Korea, but it is the Omega and Kuvings machines that have the most comprehensive warranty. Check out this video to see a comparison of some of these amazing vertical masticating juicers.

What’s so good about these machines? Since they all cost over $300, it’s right to be asking the question. One of the things I noticed straight away when I started using my Omega VRT330HD was just how good the juice tasted. Straight up! I noticed a difference between this vertical masticating unit and my Breville centrifugal one. Don’t get me wrong. They’re both decent juicers. But maybe it’s coz the Omega runs at a slower speed and it treats my fruit and veg with more love that it has a better flavor. If you’ve got a centrifugal juicer you might have noticed that the juice separates pretty quick. The watery part sinks to the bottom and the pulpier stuff sits on top. This doesn’t happen anywhere near as quick with slower speed juicers. That’s why I’m sayin’ that they make a higher quality juice.

You’re gonna be shocked at how easy these vertical juicers are to use too. Coz the hole in the top is so big, it’s easy just to drop chunks in. You don’t even have to push down with the pusher. Self feeding baby, yeah!
