Here are some shots from the Sega Genesis Sailor Moon game. They really distinguished this game from it's SNES sisters. One of the best ways was making each Scout unique and match their show abilities. Jupiter is slow, but strong, and Mercury is fast, but weak. Not bad! Even with the inferior 8-bit sound of the Genesis, they manage to do an excellent job reproducing the trademark shouts of the scounts. Of course, it's not a whole new kind of game, or anything- it's still a "Final Fight" style game, like a couple of the SNES ones. ![]() First, it's good to know that even in the virtual world, the sailor scouts can get a good cup of coffee. ![]() One thing that is common to all the "street fight" sailor moon games is the tendency of the girl's skirts to fly up at the smallest provocation. ![]() In the Sailor Moon R game, a special attack took out every enemy on the screen. Not here though- good thing that guy was standing next to me! ![]() Sigh, don't you wish you could be a scout and not worry about little things like YOUR SPINE? I know I do. Now here's an interesting observation. Remember that, at the heigh of their popularity, the SNES was considered more "kid" oriented, while the Genesis was more "teen" oriented. This is shown well here. Can you guess which transformation shots come from the SNES, and which from the Genesis?

![]() That's right, the ones on the left are from the Genesis. Pretty neat, huh? Remember, they are both Japanese games, but in one the bodies are more... uh... explicit?... no... defined, that's it, then the other, if you know what I mean. ;-) | |
