No return mail from #7

26 10 09 - 21:23 Have I somehow screwed it up already?

It seemed like she was going to mail me again, maybe she's just really busy. Hummm

So today went okay for the most part. Library, shopping as usual. Piled all the equipment into the car and drove it back to the hotel. It all worked the first time plugging it back in over there (you never know) so that was a relief. Even the printer I had just bought and had so much trouble with worked the first time. Turns out I had forgotten to remove one of the orange plastic-y bits so it wasn't reading the thing right. Of course it did print the first time, so, kind of weird.

Had too much time to sit around there, so I came home and checked my sites, ate lunch. Back out for the 1:30. Showed him how to load pictures from the card slot in his camera and how to use shutterfly. Whoopee.

Then to the 3:30, again, just small stuff, nothing major. Came back, ate dinner, and went to see the 6:30 guy whose machine had gotten worse. He was saying it was just the wireless, then that it wasn't seeing the hard drive. Now it was only booting every other time and when it did catch, it didn't stay running for more then thirty seconds before rebooting itself again. Pulled what I could out, like the RAM chips, wireless card, battery, etc. but it didn't help. His HD seems intact as I pulled it and plugged it into my laptop, but all I could really offer him was to say a few words at the funeral. He's buying a new one.

By the time I got home it was about 8:00, so I made phone calls for an hour.

And the fun thing I get to do tonight is work on a laptop someone dropped off. I'm excited, let me tell you. (this was a lie)

A couple more spammy hits off the craigslist ad. If I don't hear from #7 by this time tomorrow I'll write a short note and hope she's just gauging my interest by playing "hard to get". I cheated and looked up her email address, figuring it might be the username she's used on other dating sites. Bingo. And it even let me view her complete profile and pictures without being a member. Some security. We do have a lot in common, both in interests and attitude, I think. We'll see where it goes.

Current Mood: Confused?
