Gonna be a rough week
08 06 09 - 22:27 We're in for some chop! Very, very busy today. First a 9:30 RAM install. That took about two minutes, thank you. Then back to see Rita, the lady with the stroke. Though she had me work with her husband, who isn't much better. Ugg. Well, I don't mind. Too much. Then I went to see another of my favorites, Ellen. Very ditzy woman, and according to my parents/grandmother always has been that way. Hey, you have to admire consistency of though, right? I was supposed to just drop off a part for her crappy laptop (which has lost first its modem and now its USB functionality. Great product). But her camera wouldn't connect anymore, so I had to look at that. Then it was all "oh, how do I do this" and "How do I do that?". Ugg, lady, I squeezed you in between the other six things I had to do today, the least you could do is respect my time. But no.Then I quickly stopped over to my parent's house. Needed a tiny bit of wrapping paper for the big-thing-in-small-package I got for my friends weddings (only four days now!), and I knew she had tons of wrapping paper. So thanks, Mom!
On the way back to where I live to go grocery shopping I stopped in to a lawyer's place, I ordered his daughter (he has six, from what I understand) a keyboard for her laptop because many of her keys didn't work. It was supposed to be there so I could change it. It wasn't. Sigh. Instead I got asked a dumb question about Quickbooks, a program I've never used.
It's odd, people must think "Oh, he repairs computers so of course he knows all about program X". No. I don't even own a PC, so asking me software questions will get you a blank look in a hurry. As you've guessed, I had no clue. Great.
Shopping, bank. Done.
Then onto my 3:00, who was hanging at boot. Dust. Her heatsink was totally choked up with dust.
Then a 4:30. Which I was late for because I took the wrong 15a exit. Google maps said "take the 15a exit and turn left." Well, I did. Little did I remember that it wasn't exit 16b I wanted to take, it was exit 14. (both of which exit onto 15a. but on opposite sides of the street. If I had gotten off at 16b and turned RIGHT, I would have been okay. Still late, it's a busy street, but at least I wouldn't have gone on it twice) So I went two miles down the street before I realized my mistake (when the road ended). So I had to turn around, get back on 390s, go two more exits down, turn left again, go the correct 1.1 miles down the street and finally made it. Seesh. Thanks Google Maps. He was trying to install a flight simulator (among his other problems), a program that came on 2 DVDs. He only had a CD drive. Not only that, the program required 15GB of space, he had a 20GB hard drive. It required 512MB of RAM, he had (you guessed it) 256MB. He decided to buy a new computer. Good choice my man, good choice. Considering my iPod was better then your machine. Ugg. How can people stand to use such old equipment? They like waiting for the computer to do simple tasks, I guess.
Then home, dinner, an hour or so of phone calls, finishing up writing the last four comics I drew/colored/shaded, got ready for tomorrow and here we are.
Should be somewhat less hectic tomorrow, but I have a full day again, and I already have appointments for thursday (rehearsal day) and Saturday afternoon, and it's only Monday!
