I can has dog!

23 06 09 - 21:39 For five days, anyway. While my parents are away, I get to watch the dog and their house. Did I mention that? I think I did. Anyway, he came over today. He's a pretty big dog too, and he's scared of Squeaker, my rescued stray. Grow a pair, dog! Oh wait, you had a pair, then they were cut off. My bad.

So got the HD in and showed some more iMovie techniques, no problems.

Lady at the hotel was very happy to get her system back in one day, working fine, so she can do her end of month stuff.

Then I went to do the file transfer. It was an older iBook G4 with a busted screen (like, literally, it was smashed). Couldn't get firewire disk mode to work which was strange, it should have. Ended up totally tearing the machine apart to get at the HD. Now, I love all things Apple and Steve Jobs can has my babies and all that, but WTF are they thinking when they make these machines? Not about repairing them, that's for sure. Take any random PC laptop off a shelf and take one screw off the bottom. The HD falls neatly out for easy replacement. The Mac had about 40 screws and I didn't actually succeed in getting it apart, I physically had to bust the HD out of the dang case to pull it out so I could access it directly. And they CAN do it, you know? Take the iMac G5. Beautiful machine. Take off two screws and the whole back just lifts off, revealing the entire motherboard and all components. Then they made the first iMac with the Intel processor, which had the EXACT SAME case, but now, getting into it is nearly impossible, and you can break the screen cable if you try. I mean, I can't even crack the thing to dust it out, it's stupid. They make all this noise about unibody design, how about a uniscrew design for once?

Got the next comic penciled, went over to see my printer lady again, tried a repair permissions on the drive, maybe that'll help.

Don't have to go see my parent's house tomorrow, though I'll stop in on the way home (I'll be just down the street anyway) as they leave in the morning, so she can feed everyone before they leave. So I only have to go over there four times. So that's not too bad.

Finished up that crappy old p3 laptop (she wasn't home to make an appointment, sigh). No calls tomorrow, going to see Transformers 2 at IMAX with Sean and The Gang. Hopefully my three apainments go smoothly so I can get back here, feed and walk a pup and get over there on time. Here's hoping!
