Pup day is here!
28 06 09 - 13:37 More specifically, give pup back day... So yesterday went from okay to great thanks to a fantastic Demon Gate High session at Sean's. The morning started innocently enough, walk the dog, go see mom's cats, etc. Then over to Victor to set up a new crappy Vista laptop for someone. Back home for lunch. Colored the penciled comic (ran out of time before I could shade it, I'll do that today). Then ever to Sean's.Now, don't get me wrong, a bad game session with friends is better then the best day putting up with the crap you read about here I put up with, but sometimes things just don't go as planned for one reason or another. Last night went about as right as it could. It was weird, there was almost this, energy, I don't know, over there that kept things running smoothly. We didn't get stuck on any seemingly impossible tasks, the plans we made failed because we weren't specific enough if what we wanted the distraction to be but not fatally so. We kept on track but weren't slaves to it, laughing and joking around like we were, I don't know, actually friends or something. I usually come away from Sean's thinking "I had a good time tonight" but last night I left thinking "I had a great time tonight." Let's keep it up. Oh, and I got Ice Cream! Everything is better after a bowl of ice cream, right? Thanks Mizzy!
So today, being both a Sunday and pup goes home day, we took our "long" morning walk around Inspiration Point rather then the normal "short" one. Basically the route I normally take makes a square and we're back where we started. But if you go left instead of right you go across 104 on a bridge and to a dead end road that overlooks the bay. There are some really nice houses over there. What was odd is that the three "best" houses, one right after the other, are for sale. I mean, how bizarre is that, where three neighbors decide to move, simultaneously? The view out their back yard is fantastic, it looks right down over the bay with sailboats and birds and all kinds of things. So visually, it's a stunning place to live. Unfortunately, it's the crappiest place to live auditorially. See, while their back yard looks out over a calm, cool body of water, their front yard is basically the 104 expressway. No really! There's the road, then a little bit of shrubs, then a metal "please don't go past this point or you'll die horribly" barrier, and then a sheer drop, and then expressway. And even at 10:00 on a sunday, traffic was very active. Now, I live right within walking distance, so on a quiet night I'll hear traffic from over there, but these guys are right there, 24/7. I don't know if the best view in the world would make up for that. That's the only reason I can think of they're selling, they all got tired of the noise all at once.
Think I'll have some lunch now, a little comic work, get the pup's things around to go home, who knows. Plenty of time left today. I even cut my front lawn even though I have next to no grass, just these weird, really really tall dandelions. The leaves are really low to the ground but the flower part was on this long stalk maybe a foot high. Weird looking things. The back I don't care about, it gets cut when it really, really needs it, and not before.
I am loaded with Red Raspberries. Don't know where these bushes came from, but I love the things so I take care of them, and every year there's more there. In fact there's too many, because the stalks are so thick I can't get to the ones in back. This year I might have to thin them out, transplant some elsewhere. Getting ripe too, won't be long before I'm making pie.
Current Mood: Can almost taste that first piece of warm berry pie, fresh from the oven. UMmm ummmm!
