Where's everybody gone?

19 07 09 - 21:47 Vacation for the summer? Only had one call in the last three days? So I only have two appointments for tomorrow. Weird. Oh well, it's been slow like this before around this time. I've been getting those VHS->DVDs done for that guy (3 disks made with 2 more digitized and five more to go, ugg) cut my lawn, cleaned. Oh yeah, my Saturday appointment. Some poor guy still on dial up and using some old eMac (a step up from the g3 machines he was using) but every time he tried to dial in, poof, disconnected. His G4 was getting on fine, so it wasn't his account or the phone line. Of course, it's impossible to change out hardware in those all-in-one machines so I'll have to order him a new modem. I was trying to get to the Apple site to see what the cost was, but after 7 minutes the page still hadn't loaded. How can you people still use dial up, anyway? So when I got home (and loaded the page in 3 seconds) I discovered to my amusement that Apple doesn't even make their cute little external modem anymore. Huh. So I had to get one on ebay. Stupid modems.

The game saturday night went pretty well. No random trees trying to kill us. We ambush who we are trying to ambush, he throws a surprise or two at us, we take care of it. But here's the really bizarre part. I seem to take more damage from Mizzy's attacks then I do from people actually trying to do me physical harm. Really! A while back, I, as Albert, was close combating this old man type demon who sucks energy out and keeps it in a lantern. Mizzy, as Quaira, a Half-Demon Songstral, does the "song of discord" which is basically a ball of destructive sound. We both dodge but somehow the old man manages it better then me and rather then hitting him with it, she hits me and nearly kills me! Once I can understand- but then last night, she did it again! I was trying to stab the summoner guy (as Carlita, the Spirit Hunter) and she does a "discord" and again, I can't get out of the way (it's like a 3 meter radius ball at the point of contact) and she busts me up again. I was thinking, does Mizzy not like me? Maybe this is her way of showing it? She doesn't seem to not like me... she always greets me cordially enough. But she keeps "accidently" trying to kill me! And it's getting annoying!

Did two penciling today, just for the heck of it and one coloring. I did the second pencil because I haven't worked on Story Editor in days and wanted to do that tomorrow, so I got the comic out of the way. Guess I'll have the time, with my 11:00 and my 5:00. Must go shopping, both for groceries and a present for my 90 year old Grandmother. I'm getting her bird some new toys. She doesn't need any new toys. Two christmases ago I got her one of those cool digital picture fames and a memory card loaded up with like 20 years of pictures. I thought she would really like it, and I would update the pictures as things happened. I mean, how cool are those things, anyway? One picture frame, hundreds of pictures! She unplugged it the next day and it's never been plugged in since. Well, never buying you anything cool again, I guess. Baka obaasan.

Street sale down the side road from me, with 3 whole sales. Woohoo. That a party where you come from, boy? Got something for someone hehehe (I guess I'm the only person in the world who christmas shops all year long, I have two gifts bought already) and a UPS that seems to have a good battery for five bucks. Five bucks! You know how expensive those things are? Of course you do, it's your dream to appear on and win The Price is Right. Don't lie, you know it's true.
