Work hard, play hard!
30 07 09 - 23:13 Good thing I do neither. So as my 9:30 canceled yesterday, my first was at 11:00. Digitized the Human Calculator tape, hey, why not I thought. General stuff. Important I mean. Yeah, that's it.My 11:00 was to install a DVD-RW and answered some questions. Very cute girl. Growl! Have no idea what she looked like now, of course, but I do know beauty when I see it. Then over to her neighbor who just needed to get his system running long enough to get his files off it, which I did. Ran chkdsk /p a couple of times, that let it boot, at least. Oddest thing, he didn't know where they were (oh really?) so I did a search. Which blue screened the machine. Yes, running a search, twice, blue screened a windows machine. How does this crap get onto millions of computers, anyway? Finally found them, MANUALLY, and got them copied over to his flash drive. He was happy. Then home.
Got the opening bug solved in SSE and got the correct text to show when you open, delete or add a new page. It looks good. Next step, get more then one element on the page.
Then over to my 4:00. She had some trouble getting stuff from her DVR to her DVD-Recorder. Honestly, the files are digital files, on a hard drive. Let people just copy them off, would ya? The inputs had gotten changed so it wasn't picking up the signal. And oddly when it was picking up the video, it was getting the audio not from the playing program but from the channel displayed on the cable box. So I had to move the RCA jacks to the other output. Weird. But working in the end.
Somehow managed to watch the first five and a half hours of The Tenth Kingdom. Only another 86 minutes to go. Well, I didn't watch the whole five and a half hours, I ate dinner while it was playing. I also made phone calls during part of it, and got ready for tomorrow.
Which will be all Mac stuff. Setting up a new Mac, some Mac questions, and apparently some guy bought a bunch of Mac pieces someplace and now I get to fit them together. uh huh.
Oh yeah, and a 3:00 down the street from my grandmother with some wireless thing. So not all Mac stuff, as my head would asplode. You know, from teh 4ws0m3. Because Macs are made of win, and you can do more with a computer then a play a silly MMORPG, you know who you are person.
Rats and Bird are still okay, Squeaker still is trying to get out there to see them, but Nemoy bites, so "no rat for you".
And we limp into the cold, lonely weekend without a friend to roll dice with. Same thing for next week. My friends, my friends, why have you forsaken me? Though, I write "cold" but actually it's been rather warm this week, finally. Perhaps it shall continue?
