No calls today?

24 08 09 - 21:18 Oh, that's why.

I went to make my calls this evening, and what did I hear when I lifted the receiver?

Silence.

The silence of the universe. The quiet of the grave. Turns out when people call my line, it's busy.

Great. My mother called it in, maybe they'll get to it by wednesday. Thanks, I didn't have customers calling or anything. My mother dropped her cell phone off so I could call the two people I needed to.

Had to wear a watch for the first time in more then a year. That was weird. My iPod stayed powered up all day, plugged in. Normally you hold the button and the "slide to turn off" comes up. No dice. Unplugged it, immediately started its little reboot forever song and dance. So it's bork-borked all right. Took a look at the Apple page about iPod repair, and it's $200!!!!!!!!!!! I can buy a new one (albeit a 8GB one, adequate for my needs) for like thirty dollars more. What's up with that? Still, Snow Leopard comes out Friday, if I'm not swamped with work because I couldn't take calls for two days I'll go down there and see what they have to say about it when I pick that up. If only I could pry the case open! There might just be some junk holding the button down and that makes it do this. But nooooo, everything Apple has to be locked up tight. You make great stuff Apple, but screws are your friend.

Oh yeah, that rant yesterday about how many calls I had? I only booked today and one for tomorrow. Everyone else I was able to help over the phone. Bizarre. Well, there were two people I didn't reach.

My calls today were a guy who plugged his monitor into the wrong VGA port on his tower, a dead power supply, dropping off the laptop I replaced the keyboard on, and replacing a defective mouse that kept scrolling the window up and down, up and down. Got the two comics done a couple of weeks ago shaded, I now have six to put the text into, a job I'm betting I can finish tomorrow, given I'll probably be home waiting for my phones to work again.

Did the shopping, banking, counted my $20s wrong, I had one more then I thought!

Checked out a wall charger so I didn't need to have my iPod plugged into the computer all the time. $30.00 at staples, which had all kinds of kids running around it buying school stuff. Came home and checked ebay, $3.00, with free shipping. Mark up, much? I'll see what Apple says before I commit to anything. I hate to use it as a "wired" device, kind of defeats the purpose, but having it off the line just runs the battery down restarting every few seconds. That can't be good. I don't know what to do.

Oh, mom's here, gotta go!

Like this was realtime, or anything.

Anyway, thanks again, mom. Ur teh Bezt!
