Still no word

09 09 09 - 19:32 About poor chibi kuruma.

I got him started once, but only ran about five seconds and then he turned off again. The tow truck arrived about 3:00, only three and a half hours after I called. No word. I'm hoping it's a cheap, simple fix like a clogged filter or something. If the fuel line is corroded on the inside it could conceivably block up like an artery. What worries me is that he hasn't even called me with the estimate yet. I've heard nothing.

So, what did I do all day instead of making money? I got a comic drawn, colored and shaded. Woohoo. I worried a bunch. I went over my finances. (Wishing now that I hadn't sent over $1000 in for my "estimated taxes", but what can you do?) Read some. Ate lunch. Worried some more. Got some little things done around the house. Wondered why I was getting absolutely no calls. Well, I got one from the hotel. "oh, our printer doesn't work, boohoo." Well, not a printer repair guy so I'm not sure what to tell you.

Here's what I don't get. Here's me, trying my best to make my way in the world, not being a burden on "the system". A couple of slow weeks and a major repair bill later, is my government going to look at my finances and say "these taxes are an unfair burden for you. You may have them back." No. But a bunch of fat cats screw up their own industry and get handed money like water. Where are the incentives for a guy trying to make his own way in life? One who isn't off losing money at the races, or living beyond his means with credit cards, or knocking up six different women. No, they're happy to take my hard earned money away from me so they can go beat up "terrorists".

Oh well. I'm sure tomorrow will bring great news about my car being all fixed for a dollar and several people wanting to drop machines off to me in a steady stream.

Right after my ride into pony land.
