One piece of good news

17 09 09 - 20:12 And it's a Whopper™.

Not a Whopper™ Junior™ mind you, but that full quarter pound of beef with lettuce, tomato, onion, and special sauce. Can you taste it?

Anyway, back during my enforced "vacation" I realized I had two Adobe Acrobat packages from Rita's son. One for PC, making it useless and one for Mac. Not much call to produce the kind of PDFs that Acrobat makes, just using the built in "print to pdf..." functionality of OS X is good enough for me. And I've never had a customer ask for it, so up on ebay it went. They ended and I got paid for one. But here's the good part- if/when I get paid for the other, together they'll cover the cost of my car repair! (Yes, adobe stuff is crazy money) So I'm not as bad off as it seemed before. Thank goodness.

So today- right. Luckily when I arrived at my first one he had already put the screen on! So I didn't have to worry about that. Guess it was easier then I had thought. But he still needed it cleaned out. Leave it to windows to make a dual core 2.0 Ghz machine run like crap.

Then back home. Called everybody, finally got to Ms. Canceled, made a Sat. appointment. The other two were "yeah, go buy word if you miss it so bad." and "Oh, I remembered my password." Great. I love it- no one ever has any disks and rather then give openoffice an honest chance we're all boo-hoo over where to get Word from. Honestly, it's a word processor. Yeah, some things will work/act differently. Maybe opening a doc file won't look exactly the same. But when you've lost your job (as she had) you take what you can get. And you got OpenOffice!

So I had nothing. Ate lunch. Drew and colored a comic. I think it turned out pretty well. Watched the last Lodoss War. Played some more Scribblenauts. Went over to Lou's house. He was working with this machine he got from some guy. Must have had a SCSI card or something in the past, it was complaining about it. But it booted into 98 fine. (Ugh, die, won't you 98. Honestly, it's been 11 years!) So I messed about with the .ini files like it was the old millennium and got it to stop complaining about it. Another half hour of my life gone.

Came home, dinner. No calls today? Sigh. So I have no work for tomorrow and only one for Saturday. Sean's tomorrow though. I'll probably work on the 98 system (AARG why do you plague me so?) for the lady that's gone until the 29th and maybe get some more programming done on the story editor. Of course if I get a call I'll see about it. Oh, I do plan on taking care of the Durable Medical thing. Probably just switch the router with my grandmother's like I plan. Dumb thing. Probably do that around 2:00, that should give me enough time.

For some reason I have a hankering to play halo 1 again. Probably ODST fever, which won't be cooled for a while because even though my car repair was taken care of, it's not too early to think of christmas and buying gifts for people. So that'll come first, obviously. So, think I'll go play some Halo 1!
